Ensuring pond liners are installed correctly to give you a seamless looking pond In the Northwest, UK
Pond liners are the easiest and most efficient way of making your new pond watertight. Although it sounds simple enough, sizing and installing a pond liner correctly can be a difficult task.
MJC Ponds have plenty of experience in sizing pond liners accurately to minimalize wastage. We only use good quality rubber pond liners but can accommodate other materials to suite a budget.
What pond liner material should I choose?
There are several types of liner material available, Firestone EPDM rubber liner, SealEco EPDM rubber liner, PVC liner and HDPE liner. Both of the rubber liners are the best quality being long-lasting, tough and hard to puncture. However, these come at a cost as they are more expensive compared to the alternatives. Cheaper Options such as PVC and HDPE (high density polyethylene) don’t last as long as they can often become brittle and puncture very easily.
Pond Fiberglass, tested to stand the test of time!
We often get asked “is it cost-effective to fiberglass my pond?”, in short, the answer is YES. It may cost more to fiberglass your pond but by doing this you hugely drop the risk of ever getting a puncture. It's very difficult to damage a pond that is fiberglassed, but not impossible! Maintenance is a lot easier too as you can simply use a pressure washer and not have to worry about any accidental damage. Most modern Koi ponds are fiberglassed these days, for a reason, but we fully understand the cost isn’t for everyone.
MJC Ponds work closely with one of the UKs leading pond fiberglassing company, so you can be assured you will receive a professional service.
